Being a stay at home mom creates a number of challenges in choosing where to shop. With two small boys, factors such as parking, willingness to help from store employees and even the maneurverability of the shopping carts can determine where and I can or can not shop.

Like so many other American households, I do the majority of the shopping. Not sure if this is fair or not, but irrelevant in my case as it’s a fact. As so many others, I bring my children along. Which stores to shop is truly based on the factors I mentioned above and play a much larger role than some may think. For example, I have an appointment at a beauty supply store later this morning. The aisles and lack of availability of shopping carts will limit the time I am willing to spend inside the store.

I believe this is true for a majority of women in my position. If it is difficult to shop the store because the ease of maneuverability, a good number of consumers are going to avoid the store or business as much as possible, and when they do enter the store, it will be for as little time as possible. This means less money is spent, and they are less likely to purchase \”impulse buys\”. They will be in and out of the store on a mission to get the few items they need and then get out before there is a public meltdown (either by mom or children!).

Shopping carts play a big part for me in choosing where to shop. The size and maneuverability determine how in which car seats or infant carriers will be managed during the shopping experience. A cart not accomodating the car seat properly may result in simply balancing it in place versus actually securing it to the cart. This can be quite dangerous while steering and making your way around the store.

The ideal shopping cart for a small business should be light and sturdy, not heavy and bulky. It should be large enough for the items provided by the store yet easily maneuvered through the aisles without difficulty and creating frustration.

There have been a number of times I have left a store out of sheer frustration and not being able to maneuver smoothly through the aisles. The shopping cart for the small businesses in question were either too large, had difficult to move wheels, or the aisles were too cramped to get around to where I needed. My frustration level would go up as I would try to navigate, and generally I end up leaving sooner, rather than later, and make every effort in the future to avoid that particular store.

I prefer stores that recognize the balance of cart size and aisle width to accomodate their particular inventory of items. I need a cart in which a five year old can sit in the basket while allowing me the room needed to purchase the items I am looking to buy.

To put so much emphasis on the shopping cart may seem silly, but it’s necessary. There is one particular store which I have had to avoid until my child was big enough to sit up on his own. The stores carts would not accomodate my infant carrier. For my small business, I would make sure to provide a shopping cart that was light weight, probably plastic, sturdy, free turning wheels, wide enough for an infant carrier to be secure and possibly allow for a second child inside. It would be the appropraite size based on the overall size of the store, the products sold at the store and the width of the aisles. This would ensure its ability to maneuver throughout the store and would allow for customers to linger and spend more time, hence spend more money.

If you are doing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for your website, or you rely heavily on SEO to deliver traffic to your site, you must read this article. SEO is a long term strategy, and it takes time to build up your traffic… However, there are something everybody missing, which will deliver massive result in the shortest time!

The long tail keyword SEO tactics!

When you do keyword research, you will identify the major keywords in your market, but normally these keywords are highly competitive, and many SEO experts will start to optimize your whole site for the main keywords, hoping to get massive search engine traffic and always failed to do so, which is a stupid strategy!

What you should be doing is try to outline and find the long tail keywords for your website, you can easily tap into the long tail keywords for less competition and better converting your visitors to customers. Here is the reasons:

Reason #1 - Long tail keyword is more targeted and search engine will give more priority to them, however, if your page authority not enough, it will not show as well, that’s why the search engine will show the non optimize general result instead of targeted “long tail optimized” site. Just get some back links from the authority site and your page will easily show up.

Reason #2 - Long tail keyword rank faster. You can easily use authority sites to set some back links to your long tail keyword page, and with minimum back links from authority site, you can rank on the first page!

Reason #3 - You can see result faster! If you targeted the correct sets of long tail keywords, you can easily tap into the search engine traffic within the least time.

The best way to research long tail keywords is forum and community site like Yahoo Answer, you can find many related long tail keywords for your niche, and many searchers will actually search Google for them, and they are ignored by many SEO experts!

Opinions on Advertising are as conflicting as opinions on Religion. Forty per cent of all the people in the world are Buddhists, and are of the Opinion that Buddhism is the only true religion. Twelve per cent of the world?s people being Roman Catholics, are firm in the opinion that the remaining 88 percent are wrong, and sure of damnation accordingly.

Too many CEO’s seem satisfied to spend their money on mere opinions about advertising when they might have invested it on facts about advertising. Perhaps the salesperson was attractive you they got some good sports tickets. These are the Advertisers whose company must fail before they can be convinced that Branding is not enough and that customers have to be given a reason to buy.

Do you No a company that would give a salesperson a commission over a report from him that he was “Influencing Sales” for their other Salesperson? They would expect him to prove he was earning his salary by making a satisfactory record on sales. That is just what the advertising employer should demand from his advertising expenditure, proven sales, carrying a satisfactory profit. And, if he insists upon it he can get the kind of advertising which will actually produce sales instead of vague “Branding.”

Because, true ads are “Salesmanship-on-paper” after all. When it is anything less than salesmanship it is not real Advertising, but only “Branding.” And, “Branding” admittedly claims only to “increase favorable name recognition,” to produce a ” impression on the Trade,” and to “Influence Sales” for the salespeople.

Bad Advertising makes the same lame excuses as a Salesman who failed to earn his salary in actually selling goods. But General Publicity, or any other Advertising, should be judged by the same standards as the Salesman is judged, viz., by the goods it is clearly proven to sell at a given cost per dollar invested in it.

How Network Marketing Works

by Matt Hellstrom

Network Marketing is a business model in which companies distribute their products to the end user through a word-of-mouth, direct selling type of method. This eliminates the middle man - there are no advertising, wholesaling, or retailing costs involved whatsoever.

How Is ‘No Middle Men’ a Business Benefit?

The key benefit of not having middle men is that the company can spend more money on making the product better and more unique.

The other main benefit of the Network Marketing business model is the fact that some of the money spent on advertising and the distribution channel (wholesalers, retailers, etc.) can now go to the people who actually promote the products by their word-of-mouth advertising.

These people are referred to as associates, distributors, independent agents, and other terms. They are unsalaried salespeople that basically have their own business, and develop their organization by either building a customer base that buys their company’s products directly from the parent company and/or by recruiting a downline of independent distributors who also build their own customer base, thereby increasing the size of the overall organization.

Distributors earn commissions based on the sales efforts of their organization, which includes their efforts as well as the efforts of their downline. Commissions are paid to distributors according to their company’s compensation plan. There can be multiple levels of people receiving commission from one person’s sales. In addition, distributors can earn profit by retailing products which they purchase from their parent company at wholesale price.

There is also a term called “multi-level marketing” or “MLM”. What’s the difference between MLM and network marketing?

There is no difference! These two terms, network marketing and multi-level marketing actually refer to different aspects of the same type of business.

Network Marketing describes how the products are marketed, through a network of people in communication with one another.

Multi-level Marketing is how the people in the network are compensated for their efforts. It simply means that commissions are paid on multiple levels of the organization, thereby creating leverage.

What do you mean by leverage?

Leverage in this instance refers to being able to earn income on someone else’s efforts.

This leverage concept is used by any traditional business with employees. The company pays the employee a salary, which hopefully isn’t is as much as he brings in. The owner of the company gets to keep the difference. He is leveraging his income by making profit from the efforts of his employee.

This is kind of the same as network marketing compensation plans, but there is a big difference: In a network marketing plan, the ones that are being leveraged off of are other independent distributors instead of employees. Therefore, there are no employee costs involved and hopefully these people will be more motivated because they also own their own business.

Is This What’s Called a “Pyramid Scheme”?

Pyramid schemes are illegal in all states and most countries, whereas legitimate network marketing companies are allowed in all states and most countries. A pyramid scheme is recognized when distributors are paid primarily from money received from new recruits, or if they’re required to by more products then they can consume or sell.

The way to tell if a company is a pyramid scheme is if you can earn commission from sign-up fees. If there is no product or service obtained for this fee, then it’s a pyramid. All legitimate network marketing companies pay commission only on sales of the company’s products or services.
